The current prime minister and the president of CNRT, Xanana Gusmão said that the 2006 crisis occurred because state leaders were reluctant to resolve the problems.

"The 2006 crisis happened as a result of the state's faults, it was because state leaders were unwilling to talk to each other to find a solution to the problem," said Gusmão.

Gusmão said that they did not want the same crisis to happen again and said that the presidential election will be held peacefully.  (*)
