President of Republic José Ramos-Horta off to the United States to attend United Nations Security Council meeting.
“The meeting is vital as it will be a last meeting to decide to keep United Nations forces up to December 2012,” said Horta.
Horta spoke to the media after attended the first national congress of Frenti Mudanca in Canossian Hall, Becora, Dili on Saturday (18/2).
He said that when UNMIT ends it is mission in the country, there will only a UN political body to monitor the situation in Timor-Leste.
President Horta will be in New York for a long week before returning for the presidential rally next week. (*)
