Bishop for Baucau Diocese, Monsignor Basilio do Nascimento, said that even though the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) would end in December this year but it would be possible for their advisors to remain in the country.
'I heard that UN will continue its presence in Timor-Leste, but it will be different from its current mission. They will continue being here as observers and advisors, but they should not drive UNMIT cars to go up and down," he said.
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Zacarias Albano da Costa recently said that the UN delegations had met with him to consult about how Timor-Leste could see the next phase after the mandate of UNMIT ends in December. (*)
