Julio Gil da Silva Guterres

 

Gil da Silva Guterres is the Director of Centru Jornalista Investigativu Timor Leste - CJITL, he is holding International Relations Degree from University of Peace - UNPAZ, Timor Leste. He is the 2011 States Alumni (International Visitor Leadership Program - IVLP alumni to United States of America). Guterres was attended three International fellowship; SALZBURG Fellowship 2010 in Austria, SEAPA Fellowship 2011 in Indonesia and Malaysia, Edward Murrow Fellowship 2011 in United States of America. He is also a laureate of  Timor Leste Investigative Award 2005. He has 10 years in journalism (Radio and Investigative). Guterres is a former National project assistant for UNDP Media Project. He was also a former Vice Director of LABEH. LABEH or Lalenok Ba Ema Hotu is an Anti-Corruption NGO in Timor Leste.

 

   

Suzana Cardozo


Born in Atsabe, Ermera, September 28, 1974. She is the founder and senior photographer for TiLPA (Timor Leste’s Photographers Association) and she began her journalism carrier in 1996 as a journalists for Suara Timor Timur (which is then became STL). She is also a founder for Timor Post and she has attended various intensive training in Timor Leste and also in foreign countries such as, Indonesia and Australia. This journalist trainer is also an international correspondent for a Japanese Newspaper-The Asahi Shimbun, Kyodo News and also a Japanese Economic Newsletter - The Nikkei Shimbun, started from 1998. She became an active member for Timor Leste’ Journalists Syndicate (SJTL). And she is a 2nd laureate of the Investigative Award from TLMDC and Internews Timor Leste in 2005. She is also the founder and the elected general secretary of CJITL for three years.

   

Pedrucu da Cunha

born in Astaran, Lautem, July 19, 1979. He began his journalism carrier at Radio Comunidade Lospalos (RCL) in 2000. He was in charge of radio editor but then he left the station in 2004. He became a trainer for radio community reporters and also became an executive member of Community Radio Association (ARKTL). In 2005, he was a laureate of Investigative Award at the 3rd position after successfully finishing the Investigative Journalism Training which was organized by INTERNEWS Timor Leste and TLMDC (Timor Leste Media Development Center) in 2005, and is a founder and an active member of CJITL.

   

David Hugo da Silva


born in Bucoli, Baucau, on April 1, 1980. He began his carrier as a radio anchor for UNTAET Radio in 2001, which is then transformed to Radio Timor Leste (RTL) in May 2002. He was in charge of both news program coordinator in Indonesian version and a journalist for sport program in TVTL until now. He was the representative of RTL for executive reporting in United Nations Headquarter in New York. He has successfully finished various trainings, including Investigative Journalism Training which was organized by INTERNEWS Timor Leste and TLMDC (Timor Leste Media Development Center) in 2005, and as a founder and active member of CJITL.

Filomeno de Brito Carvalho

 

Born in Laulara, Aileu.
He has been in charge of various positions about social communication before involving himself as an anchor for UNTAET Radio in 2001. He is an expert in production program of radio package or a producer at RTL until now. He has succesfully finished various trainings, including Investigative Journalism Training which was organized by INTERNEWS Timor Leste and TLMDC (Timor Leste Media Development Center) in 2005, and as a founder and active member of CJITL.

   
 Florindo da Conceicao Sarmento de Jesus


Born in Lacluta, Viqueque, May 23, 1969. Graduated in the area meteorology and geophysics, but he has chosen to work as journalist after finishing his experience as an activist during many years in Viqueque. He is the founder Radio Povu Viqueque (RPV) and also in charge as the manager of the radio station. He has succesfully finished various trainings, including Investigative Journalism Training which was organized by INTERNEWS Timor Leste and TLMDC (Timor Leste Media Development Center) in 2005, and as a founder and active member of CJITL.

   

Jose Henrique da Silva, born in Maliana.


He began to involve in journalism in August 2002 after participating in various training from various organizations such as, Intercooperacao Desenvolvemento (INDE), TLMDC and INTERNEWS. He was able to successfully concluding an investigative training along with 12 Timorese journalists in Dili, but he had spent most of his time in the area of activism. He is also a founder for Radio Comunidade Maliana (RCM) and also in charge of the manager of the radio station. He is a founder and active member for CJITL.

   

Lady Ximenes


Born in Baucau, October 3, 1974. She began her journalism carrier as an anchor for Radio Timor Kmanek (RTK) in 1998. She became the program and news in May 2001 – February 2004. She is also working as a correspondent UCAN (Union Catholic of Asian News). Recently, she is working in the Cabinet of Human Rights and Justice (PDHJ), in communication division. She has succesfully finished various trainings, including Investigative Journalism Training which was organized by INTERNEWS Timor Leste and TLMDC (Timor Leste Media Development Center) in 2005, and as a founder and active member of CJITL.

   

Martinho Martins

 

Born in Ponilala, Ermera, August 10, 1977. He is an activist and graduated in Social Science and Politics in the National University of Timor Leste (UNTL), and he began his journalism carrier in 2005. He has the experience of reporting in the area of Human Rights. He worked as a reporter for a weekly newspaper VOX POPULI in 2006. He is recently working as a database expert in Fokupers NGO. He has succesfully finished various trainings, including Investigative Journalism Training which was organized by INTERNEWS Timor Leste and TLMDC (Timor Leste Media Development Center) in 2005, and as a founder and active member of CJITL.

   

Marcelino Pereira


Born in Aileu, February 01 1979, Former UNAMET Local Staff and UNTAET during four years, and he began his journalism carrier in 1999 as a reporter assistant of BBC TV during two weeks, covering news in southern conflict area in Timor Leste. He was a senior video cameraman at CAMSTL (Centru Audiovisual Max Stahl) for more than four years. He has successfully completed peace and conflict journalism training from PECOJON, which was facilitated by TLMDC. Started from 2007 up to present, he is working for International enter for Journalists (ICFJ) as the Project Leader for Regional Media House in Timor Leste. He is also a member of CJITL and in charge of Finance and Admin Associate.
